Welcome to Bethel Hudson!
We gather together in worship, discipleship, and mission. The church is the center of our life together as a people of God and is the experience of God's grace. Through worship, God encounters us in Word and Sacrament, nourishes our faith, stimulates our spiritual growth, and strengthens us for ministry in daily living. We intentionally seek to provide specific opportunities to put our faith into action through worship, music, education, fellowship, and stewardship. We seek to minister to all within the St. Croix Valley community and beyond.
We encourage you to engage with any of our ministries or programs, and hope you find our worship inspiring and welcoming.
~ Pastor Ladd and Pastor Kris
What should I wear?
We welcome you to wear whatever is comfortable: most wear business casual or Sunday best; some wear jeans and a T-shirt.
Are kids welcome? Is childcare available during the service?
The Bethel community loves to see children in worship! During the school year (September-May) nursery is available for children under 3. And Sunday School is offered during the school year months during worship for children ages 3-5th Grade.
What happens at a typical worship service?
Worship at Bethel follows the ELCA calendar, celebrating the story of God's love for all creation. Each week we take time to gather, listen to God's Word, celebrate with music, share Holy Communion, and depart in service as we begin the new week. Words for all songs and congregational responses are displayed on screens in the front of the sanctuary.
Do I have to put money in the offering plate?
There is no pressure to give anything. Offering is an opportunity to share your abundance as you see fit. It is a way to acknowledge the many gifts that God has given us. If you do share a gift, it will be used for God's work at Bethel, in our community, and shared with brothers and sisters in need across the nation and around the world. There are opportunities to give in the offering plate as it is passed around on Sunday mornings or give online at any time.
Do I have to be Lutheran to take communion?
At Bethel, anyone who desires to encounter the real presence of God is welcome to come forward for communion. You don't have to be a member and you don't even have to be Lutheran. All are welcome at the Lord’s table to receive Holy Communion.
