Pastor Kris has been married to Neal for 33 years and they have three adult children, 1 daughter-in-law, and 1 granddaughter: Wyatt, Amy and Hallie live in Riverside, Iowa, Adam lives in El Dorado, Kansas, and Katie is in grad school pursuing her doctorate in pharmacy at the University of Iowa.
She loves to read, watch movies, go for walks, do Pilates and play the piano. Her favorite Bible verses come from Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Whew! Thank goodness, NOTHING can separate us from God’s great love!
Pastor Kris earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from The College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN. She received her Master of Divinity Degree from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, where she tutored Pastor Ladd in Greek and he taught her how to make beer in her bathtub. One of those skills is more useful than the other.
Pastor Kris likes to find the humor and irony in life because they make for great sermon illustrations. She likes applying the ancient Biblical texts to contemporary issues.
